The new Sølyst...

Connecting existing and new buildings takes place via a light, organically formed glass building, "the cultural axis", which is anonymous as to height and façade compared with "old" Sølyst. The intricate façade reflects the lake and the trees and adds both lightness to the architectural composition and a relationship to the surroundings. It is the plan that a glass "temple" in the park will be used for outdoor concerts in the summer and for small-scale activities/exhibitions in the winter.
"The cultural axis" will probably be divided vertically by a very tall fibreglass "curtain" reflecting light art or an electric newspaper from all possible sides and angles. This faceted room will function as a foyer at opening receptions and possibly also in connection with arrangements being held in the multi-hall.
The partly buried exhibition wing is divided into two units, so that two different or one large exhibition can be held at the same time. The exhibitions may also take place in the Cultural Axis. The height of the exhibition rooms varies between 3 to 5 metres, and in one room there will be 9 metres from floor to ceiling in the southern end.
The multi-hall will be placed in a detached building and may, using variable stage platforms, hold all kinds of arrangements.
